To recycle, or not to recycle, that is the question: Insights from life-cycle analysis

چکیده
Why recycle? The most commonly stated reason for recycling is to reduce burdens associated with the disposal of our never-ending stream of wastes. Waste disposal potentially causes air and water pollution and is costly; moreover, landfi lls compete with other land uses. In addition, recycling can extend our supply of materials to alleviate scarcity and to moderate rising prices of raw materials. Furthermore, recycling is often more environmentally benign than using virgin raw materials and can reduce energy use and emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants.

Improving Cyclone Efficiency by Recycle and Jet Impingement Streams
In this paper a new process is presented for improving efficiency of cyclone de-dusting systems. The cyclone is coupled with a specially designed cylindrical chamber which includes a rotating tube inside it with air impinging nuzzles, drilled on the peripheral surface of the tube. The nuzzles help in pushing and throwing the particles to the outer radius distances during downward flow of du...
متن کاملAn Updated Evaluation of ReCycle
Process variation reduces a pipeline’s maximum attainable frequency by creating unbalance in the stage delays. As a result, the pipeline ends up cycling with a period close to that of the slowest pipeline stage. ReCycle was proposed in ISCA 2007 as a framework for comprehensively applying cycle time stealing to balance the stage delays under process variation, thereby allowing the pipeline to c...

This comprehensive work explores the research performed inoptimization of the collection bin and in recycle bin location-allocation issues in solidwaste management. Although the collection phase of solid waste management accountsfor a significant proportion of the municipal budget, it has attracted only limitedattention of the researchers. Optimization of the collection bin and recycle bin loca...
متن کاملRDF Production from Municipal Wastes (Case Study: Babol City)
Today, with the advancement of technology, turning waste into fuel has been considered as an inexhaustible source of energy production, especially in industries with high energy consumption. The most important of these industries are Cement and Iron Smelting factories. Babol, as one of the largest provinces in the north of the country, has been facing waste management crisis for several years w...
